BROADWAY FAMILY APARTMENTS OPENS TO GREAT FANFARE                         

Over 250 people celebrated the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the Broadway Family Apartments on the corner of Battery and Broadway Streets in San Francisco on Wednesday, June 4.  Mayor Gavin Newsom, former Mayor Willie L. Brown, Jr., Supervisor Aaron Peskin, Brenda Wright of Wells Fargo, project architect Daniel Solomon and Rose Pak of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce joined Chinatown CDC Executive Director Gordon Chin and Deputy Director of Programs Norman Fong in cutting the ceremonial ribbon for the 81-unit project, the first new affordable housing development in the Northeast Waterfront in over 30 years.

PARKVIEW TERRACES OFFERS SENIOR HOUSING IN THE WESTERN ADDITION

Parkview Terraces, 101 units of affordable senior housing, opened officially on May 22 with a ceremony featuring Mayor Gavin Newsom, Supervisor Chris Daly, Fred Blackwell of the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency, Rev. Arnold Townsend of the Western Addition Citizens’ Advisory Committee, building resident Jane Kiskiras, Chinatown CDC Director of Housing Whitney Jones and Ruthy Bennett, Senior Vice President of AF Evans.  This joint development by AF Evans and Chinatown CDC is located at Turk and Gough Streets in the Western Addition.
