We at Chinatown CDC work together with people throughout our community from our residents and local merchants to our elected city leaders to make our neighborhoods a better place to live. As a volunteer you can take an active role in building that community with Chinatown CDC.
We often need help with various programs, from facilitating games with our senior tenants to lending a hand at one of our festivals. Some of our seasonal events like the Chinese New Year celebrations,
Arts in the Alleyway festivals, and holiday parties for our residents benefit the most from volunteer support. Direct service opportunities are available for individuals, groups, and corporate or civic organizations. Chinatown CDC also works with organizations and businesses in long-term volunteer partnerships, like holding annual volunteer or service days. If your organization or business is interested in developing this kind of partnership or if you are interested in volunteering with Chinatown CDC please email
You can also help support some of our specific volunteer needs:
Korean-speaking Tenant Outreach Assistants:
Bilingual (and preferably bi-literate) Korean speaker needed to assist Resident Services in Japantown building with tenant communication. Translation of documents needed from English to Korean. Volunteers needed during the day on Mondays – Wednesdays. Email
for more information.
