Chinatown U.S.A. Convocation — 1992
In 1992, Chinatown CDC convened a national convocation in San Francisco of Chinatown organizations across the country to discuss issues of common concern among Chinatowns in Boston, Chicago, Honolulu, Los Angeles, New York, Oakland, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle. The Chinatown U.S.A. Convocation Report documents the discussion and the exchange of ideas on community development with historical background, demographic information, and land use data about the nine different Chinatowns.

The Chinatown U.S.A. Convocation has since provided the impetus for the formation of a National Coalition of Asian Pacific Americans for Community Development (National CAPACD) that will be announced in a national convention in Washington D.C. in May 2000. Chinatown CDC is one of the primary organizations spearheading this effort.
