How to Apply for Housing
Thank you for inquiring about Chinatown Community Development Center's housing projects. Chinatown CDC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the community. Since 1978, Chinatown CDC has played a major role in the development of over 2,000 long-term, affordable units in the Chinatown, North Beach, tenderloin, and other San Francisco neighborhoods. Chinatown CDC's goal is to increase the amount of affordable housing for low-income residents, to improve the quality of housing, and to offer housing management services that are sensitive to its residents' needs. Applications will only be accepted at the individual building's management office at specified times. Please pick up and turn in your application at the building for which you wish to apply. Our main office, located at 1525 Grant Avenue, will not give out application(s). If you want to apply for more than one building, you must fill out an application for each site separately. Turnovers in our buildings are very slow. Applicants need to be patient. If you change your address or phone number, please inform the building manager(s) immediately. All applicants must meet income limit guidelines and family composition regulations to become residents of our buildings. Applicants have three refusals of a specific room in one building before they are removed from that building's waiting list. After applying, you will receive a confirmation letter listing the building(s) you applied for, the building address(es) and contact information. You must check your application status at the building(s) for which you applied by using the address and phone number provided in the correspondence. Our main office located at 1525 Grant Avenue will not give out applications forms nor update the status of your application(s).
