Resident Services

resident services
Chinatown CDC provides services-enriched housing to enhance the quality of life of our residents and enable them to become self-sufficient, living independently for as long as possible.

We believe in community investment, fostering social networks in our housing and the neighborhoods we serve so residents remain connected to and actively participate in issues that impact them. Our residential services staff works closely with Property Management at our buildings to assist residents in maintaining their housing, to educate residents about important tenant laws and housing issues, and to nurture safe and healthy communities.

Chinatown CDC tenants are predominantly low-income immigrants -- seniors, single adults, and families with children, representing a diverse range of languages. Over 80% of our residents have limited English proficiency and benefit from translation and interpretation services that assist them in understanding important documents that affect their benefits, housing status, and health.

We provide resident services at seventeen of our properties with over 1200 apartments and 1900 residents. Our properties are located in the North Beach, Barbary Coast, Chinatown, Polk Gulch, Western Addition, and Tenderloin neighborhoods.

Our basic services at our properties include:
- New resident move-in outreach
- Information and referrals on local resources
- Translation and interpretation
- Assistance in navigating paperwork and public benefits
- Resident health and wellness checks
- Eviction prevention assistance
- Conflict mediation
