Chinatown Community Development Center to benefit from Union Bank Lunar New Year Wishing Tree

San Francisco, CA (February 2, 2015) — As part of its ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, and in celebration of Lunar New Year, Union Bank welcomes the Year of the Sheep by hosting Wishing Trees at participating California branches.

In the spirit of the Year of the Sheep, customers who visit 15 participating Union Bank branches throughout California February 1 through March 14, 2015, will have an opportunity to share their wishes and support their local community by making a contribution to a local non-profit organization. Donations will be matched (up to $2,500 per organization) by the MUFG Union Bank Foundation. “We appreciate Union Bank’s support of the work we do to create affordable housing and provide holistic support services for low income residents throughout San Francisco,” says Rev. Norman Fong, Chinatown CDC’s Executive Director. “We are honored that we will benefit from a Wishing Tree in San Francisco and we appreciate Union Bank’s ongoing support of our work.”

“Celebrating diversity and inclusion is part of our heritage at Union Bank, and we’re excited to join the community to honor traditions such as Lunar New Year,” says Union Bank Multicultural Strategy Manager Frank Robinson. “Sharing through the Wishing Tree is a great way to reconnect with each other in the spirit of community and exemplifies our ongoing commitment to supporting our local communities.”

The following Union Bank branches will feature Wishing Trees:
Los Angeles: Arcadia, Pasadena, San Gabriel, San Marino
Orange County: Garden Grove, Puente Hills, Tustin, Westminster
San Diego: College Center, Kearny Mesa
San Francisco Bay Area: Daly City, Laurel Heights, Oakland, San Francisco, Sunnyvale
