Calling for Couplet Composers at Central Subway Chinatown Station’s Plaza

Opening in 2019, the new Central Subway Chinatown Plaza will feature a large couplet measuring 9 feet by 11 ½ inches high and 1 ½ inches wide outside the entrance of the station. All poets of any age are invited to submit a couplet for consideration for prominent, permanent placement at the plaza. The winner will also receive a $150 gift certificate at a local San Francisco Chinatown restaurant to celebrate with their friends and family.

中央地鐵華埠站將於2019年盛大開幕,届时一副长10尺宽1.5寸的楹聯將點缀在地鐵站入口的兩側。我們誠邀所有興趣的朋友,無分年齡,創作一幅楹聯,獲勝的作品將作為廣場的卓越標誌得以永久保存。獲勝的選手也將獲得一份價值150美金的禮券在某一間三藩市華埠餐廳,讓您和您的親朋好友可以一起分享慶祝這份榮譽。

It is hoped that entries will be inspired by the theme of transportation and can reflect or connect to Chinatown and Chinese Americans’ history.

希望作品內容以交通為主題,並能聯繫或反應華埠與在美華裔的歷史或故事。

The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 20. Submissions include an entry form and are to be mailed or hand delivered to Chinatown Community Development Center Program office, 663 Clay St, San Francisco, CA 94111. The winner will be judged in a blind review by a community panel to ensure a fair selection. There is no entry fee and please only one submission per person.
