The Lunar New Year Luncheon is Chinatown CDC's annual community event in the spring. This banquet-style lunch provides a unique opportunity for our residents to connect with friends and neighbors to celebrate the Chinese New Year and its cultural heritage. For the residents living in Single-Room-Occupancy buildings and public housing, limited living space may prevent them from celebrating the New Year.
In 2025, we are excited to celebrate the Year of the Snake, a symbol of wisdom, charm, elegance, and transformation. Those born in the Years of the Snake in 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, and 2025 are known for their creativity, intelligence, and strategic thinking. These are traits that we can all aspire to.
With your support, we can continue our tradition and ensure that over 500 seniors and low-income residents enjoy the warmth and joy of celebrating New Year with their community for lunch free of charge as we usher in a year of prosperity and good fortune for all.
