The Lunar New Year Luncheon is one of San Francisco Chinatown’s most joyful spring traditions, bringing seniors and low-income residents together for a vibrant and meaningful celebration of the Chinese New Year. For many residents living in Single-Room-Occupancy buildings and public housing, limited space and resources make it difficult to celebrate at home. Our residents look forward to this luncheon every year because they can gather and connect with friends and neighbors, enjoy a festive meal, and celebrate cherished cultural traditions in a warm and welcoming community setting.

In 2026, we are excited to usher in the Year of the Horse, a symbol of energy, perseverance, and good fortune. With generosity of our sponsors, more than 500 residents will be welcomed as our guests to enjoy a special, banquet-style New Year luncheon. Join us in sustaining this beloved community tradition and creating a meaningful, joy-filled start to the year for our Chinatown community.
