Environmental justice champion Eddie Ahn of Brightline Defense

Eddie Ahn is the Executive Director of Brightline Defense, an environmental justice nonprofit based in San Francisco where he has held the position since 2015. In collaboration with Chinatown CDC, Brightline serves frontline communities with programs ranging from air quality monitoring and filtration to youth leadership to building decarbonization. Brightline’s report examining threats within the Single Room Occupancy (SRO) housing community brought attention to the matter of residents suffering from chronic health problems exacerbated by poor air quality. He is a leading advocate on the state and national level for bringing renewable energy and equitable job opportunities to low-income communities.
